Western International Junior Hockey League Releases 2026–27 Inaugural Regular Season Schedule
The Western International Junior Hockey League (WIJHL) is pleased to announce the release of its 2026–27 regular season schedule.
The league’s inaugural season will officially begin on Friday, September 18, 2026, with all ten WIJHL clubs taking to the ice to open what promises to be an exciting and competitive campaign.
Each team will compete in a 44-game regular season, concluding on Saturday, February 27, 2027. Clubs will play 28 games against divisional opponents and 16 inter-divisional games, providing fans with the opportunity to see every team throughout the season.
The WIJHL will observe its annual holiday break from December 20–30, with regular season action resuming on New Year’s Eve. The 2027 WIJHL Playoffs are scheduled to begin on Friday, March 5, 2027.
In keeping with the league’s commitment to player development and academic success, 92 percent of the league’s 220 regular season games will be played on weekends, minimizing travel during the school week and allowing student-athletes to better balance hockey and education.

The WIJHL extends its sincere appreciation to Spokane Braves Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Jason Greenwell for his outstanding work in developing the 2026–27 regular season scheduling matrix and for leading the league’s annual scheduling meetings. His dedication and attention to detail were instrumental in producing a balanced and efficient schedule for all member clubs.

The WIJHL will release its 2026–27 preseason schedule on August 3, 2026, as anticipation continues to build for the start of the inaugural season of Western International Junior Hockey League hockey.
